About Us

Hastings Family Service is a local nonprofit that engages community to provide help and hope for neighbors. We envision a caring and connected community where all neighbors can thrive. We provide nutritious foods for individuals and families through the Market food shelf programs, Meals on Wheels, and supportive services for residents of Independent School District 200 including community resource assistance, Just Friends transportation, school supply assistance, Project Share holiday assistance, and possible financial help with expenses such as housing, utilities, automobile repairs, gas, prescriptions, diapers, and formula, etc. We also operate Rivertown Treasures thrift store that provides clean, carefully inspected, gently-used clothing and small household items at no cost to families living in ISD 200 through our voucher program. Merchandise is also available for sale to the public and all store revenue supports HFS programs. 100% of the inventory is donated by the community.
