    •   SUBSTITUTE NURSE 

      RESPONSIBLE TO: Health Services Supervisor
       
      SCHEDULE & HOURS:
      • Intermittent hours as needed in health offices (elementary or secondary building) and field trips. 
      • Health office hours are based on school calendar. Length varies depending on need: up to 8 hours a day. 
       
      RESPONSIBILITIES:
      • Provide first aid care of injured or ill students/staff.
      • Administer medications and treatments to students (e.g. glucose testing, medication administration, tube feeding, etc.) following written orders. Document care provided in electronic data base.
       
      • Respond to health emergencies, administer CPR and first aid as needed
      • Maintain confidentiality and data privacy
      • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, and staff
      • Maintain and update health records, immunization files, and records.
      • Conduct health care assessment and decision making based on medical knowledge and licensure

      COMPENSATION/BENEFITS: 
      • LPN's - $25.98 per hour; RNs - $31.42 per hour
      • This position does not include benefits as it is a non contracted position.

      REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse License, Current First Aid and CPR certification, Computer Literacy

      • Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness
      • Ability to react quickly and decisively in a crisis
      • Ability to function with a minimum of supervision
      • Display a high level of professionalism
