Position Overview:
Intek Plastics is seeking an Engineering Intern to support our engineering team by creating and maintaining technical drawings in accordance with company standards. This role requires proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD and offers hands-on experience in developing manufacturing-ready prints for custom extruded components and secondary operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create detailed engineering prints following Intek Plastics' standards.
- Interpret and translate customer-provided drawings and models into Intek-specific prints for manufacturing.
- Develop technical prints for parts requiring secondary operations, including drilling, notching, punching, and assembly.
- Update and convert outdated or legacy drawings to align with current Intek standards.
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure accuracy, manufacturability, and compliance with design specifications.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD (both required).
- Strong understanding of technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to interpret and apply engineering specifications.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced engineering environment.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Design, or a related field.
We are looking for the intern to work around 20 hours a week. Days/hours are flexible.
