Celebrate the arrival of spring by learning about our region’s many bird species. The Hastings Environmental Protectors have teamed up with CNC to host the Hastings Area Birding Festival for a second year. Some of the highlights of the day are an “Introduction to Birding” class, a “Raptors 101” class, bird banding demonstrations and guided bird trips in the Hastings area. Carrol Henderson, well known birding guide and Minnesota DNR wildlife expert, will be the Key Note Speaker at this year’s event and the focus will be “Planting for Wildlife.” The University of Minnesota’s Monarch Lab will also make a presentation at this event. RSVPs are required. Box lunches may be ordered. Program fee is $2.50 per person or $10 per person including a box lunch. Any proceeds from the event will support CarpenterNatureCenter.
